Jonty Rawcliffe assumes role of ESG & sustainability lead within property management

24th October 2023, London - BNP Paribas Real Estate has announced that Jonty Rawcliffe has been appointed as ESG & sustainability lead within its UK property management team, as it further strengthens its Pan-European service offering to its clients.

Rawcliffe takes on his new role after almost four years with the firm's rural business, where he was head of natural capital in England, with a specific oversight of Biodiversity Net Gain projects. In his new role, he will work closely with European head of sustainability for property management, Christophe Girard, to ensure clients are provided with strategic insights and expertise across the continent.

As Europe's leading property manager, with over 45 million sq m under management, BNP Paribas Real Estate continues to set new standards for property management in the UK through its focus on customer experience, ESG integration and technical excellence.

Steve Harber, head of property management UK at BNP Paribas Real Estate commented: “Our clients are operating in a fast-moving world where ESG, technology and flexibility are driving constant change. In his new role, Jonty will ensure we bolster our relations with our European colleagues and clients to deliver optimal building performance, with a clear focus on cost control and value, ensuring our clients’ properties and portfolios have a sustainable advantage.”

Donna Rourke, Head of ESG & sustainability at BNP Paribas Real Estate commented: “Jonty’s experience coordinating different service lines to achieve strategic objectives and establish avenues to add value and maximise returns means he is perfectly positioned to advise clients to achieve their ESG goals in the most efficient and cost effective way. His new role will see him tap into our network of offices, delivering value to them that positions them for success in the markets in which they operate.”

Jonty Rawcliffe, ESG & sustainability lead for property management at BNP Paribas Real Estate added: “Building owners are adapting to changing expectations around sustainability, social responsibility and governance, in order to stay competitive and meet the needs of occupiers, investors and local communities. With climate change and our environment becoming a mainstay of commercial discussions and considerations for clients, I am incredibly excited to be joining a team providing solutions to the challenges they face and adding value to clients’ assets through the opportunities these solutions can provide.”

Rawcliffe joins the property management team following the launch of the firm’s sustainability framework offering earlier this year. The framework is an organisational solution for achieving multiple sustainability goals at once and can be applied at asset or portfolio level.

Jonty’s role forms part of BNP Paribas Real Estate’s 100 person strong ESG and sustainability team in the UK, and his appointment follows Jason Smith and Jean Parker as directors within valuations, and Tom Stanley as national head of development & planning earlier this year.
