Our latest European Residential report has just been released.
Key findings indicate that:
- The housing stock balance in Europe is tilted slightly to houses (52.9%) over flats (46.2%)
- Accommodation is seeing a densification trend across Europe with more apartments built than houses since 2010.
- Nevertheless, there is geographic variation across Europe with countries such as Latvia, Spain, Switzerland and Estonia where flats represent more than 60% of the housing stock.
- Housing stock in Benelux, Balkan and Nordic countries as well as the United-Kingdom are mostly dominated by houses (>60% of the housing stock).
