Hoteliers welcomed the up-tick in hotel occupancy over Q2 2022. Particularly, major regional cities benefitted from weekday demand.
The improving demand picture pushed up national average daily rates to their highest level since June 2019, driven by the tick up in travel, both leisure and business.
However, there are a number of issues in the sector that are a cause for concern and inevitably the bottom line for operators will be challenged over the coming months.
