Sustainability Report 2025/26 Launched

BNP Paribas Real Estate and Strutt & Parker have today published their Sustainability Report 2025/26, outlining the progress made across environmental, social and governance (ESG) priorities and demonstrating how sustainability is being embedded throughout the organisations’ operations.

The report details a year of measurable progress, including an 18% reduction in operational energy consumption compared with 2024 and a 62% reduction since the 2018 baseline. Scope 1 and 2 carbon emissions fell by 25% year-on-year and are now 79% lower than 2018 levels.

The report also highlights the continued commitment to sourcing 100% renewable electricity and green gas for directly procured sites, alongside the rollout of smart metering technology across the portfolio to improve data quality and drive further operational efficiencies.

Beyond environmental performance, the report showcases the organisations’ social impact initiatives including the launch of a new two-year partnership with Alzheimer’s Society with a fundraising target of £100,000.

Donna Rourke, Head of ESG & Sustainability at BNP Paribas Real Estate UK commented: “The role of sustainability has evolved significantly in recent years. We have moved beyond a period where ambition alone was enough and entered an era where transparency, accountability and measurable outcomes matter more than ever.

“This report demonstrates the progress we have made by focusing on practical action. Whether that is reducing energy consumption, improving data quality through smart metering, embedding sustainability into office fit-outs, supporting our communities or strengthening governance, our approach is centred on creating long-term resilience for our business and stakeholders.

“We are proud of the progress we have achieved, but equally conscious that sustainability is a continual journey. The challenges facing our industry and wider society remain significant, and we remain committed to driving meaningful change while being transparent about where further progress is needed.”

Cameron McVean, Chief Operating Officer at BNP Paribas Real Estate UK, added: “Sustainability is fundamental to how we operate as a business. Our responsibility extends beyond compliance to ensuring our actions contribute positively to the clients, communities and industries we serve.

“The achievements outlined in this report are the result of collaboration across our business. From reducing our operational carbon footprint and transitioning our vehicle fleet, to strengthening our approach to social impact and governance, our people continue to demonstrate a commitment to creating positive change.

“As a trusted adviser to clients across commercial, residential and rural property markets, it is essential that we lead by example. By embedding sustainability into our own operations, we strengthen our ability to help clients navigate the opportunities and challenges of the transition to a more sustainable built environment.”
