MEES 2023 – Potentially 10% of Buildings are Non-Compliant

A lot of consideration and discussion has been given to potential changes to the MEES regulations. However, has the industry lost sight of existing deadlines? From 1st April 2023 it will be unlawful to continue to let a non-domestic property with an EPC lower than ‘E’ – are we ready?

Based upon the latest EPC data, over 10% of all EPCs lodged within the last ten years are rated below the required MEES ‘E’ EPC rating.  Within this guide, we look at actions that should be taken in advance of the upcoming deadline.  We also consider upcoming changes to the regulations and reflect whether MEES has been a success to date.
