Cameron McVean is responsible for the central functions of the business, everything behind the scenes, which ensures all the people who support the business can do a great job for clients.
Cameron McVean joined BNP Paribas Real Estate in 2013 and has since progressed through a series of operational and leadership roles across the business. During the last four years in the role of Director of Operations, he has played a pivotal role in delivering strategic, organisational and systems change, notably leading the relocation to Harewood Avenue, directing the consolidation and restructuring of the IT function, IG reviews, and managing the implementation of Microsoft Dynamics.
He has been active in the real estate industry for 25 years, including investment experience at Cambridge Associates and six years leading product development for European and global funds at IPD (Investment Property Databank). IPD was the first real data business in UK real estate and fundamentally changed how the market operated. During his tenure, Cameron helped lead IPD through significant growth, culminating in its successful sale to MSCI in 2012 for £82 million.
Cameron has also overseen the integration of teams across BNP Paribas Real Estate and Strutt & Parker, while working closely with colleagues at Real Estate HQ in Paris and partnering with internal functions across the bank. His deep understanding of the business, combined with a collaborative and outcomes-focused approach, positions him to lead the next phase of operational excellence.
As COO, Cameron will have accountability for IT, Marketing & Communications, Facilities, Procurement, Compliance, Business Continuity (BCP) and Operational Process & Control (OPC). On behalf of the Executive Committee, he will ensure the firm’s infrastructure, systems and processes fully support its strategic ambitions and client delivery.
