The site comprises the former Clitheroe Hospital which extends to circa 2.02 hectares (5.00 acres) and offers view of Pendle Hill to the east. It is located immediately to the south of the A671 Chatburn Road, circa 1 mile to the north east of Clitheroe town centre and train station and 1 mile south west of Chatburn village.

There are a range of historic and modern buildings at the site which we understand to extend to circa 3,973 sq. , (42,765 sq. ft.), with the original former Workhouse and Infirmary buildings understood to have been constructed in the 1870s. The remainder of the site consists of hardstanding, including existing vehicular access from Chatburn Road to the north, and former gardens and other green space.

Location

Clitheroe is an attractive historic town within the Ribble Valley District of Lancashire with a population of circa 15,000. The town lies to the south of the River Ribble, circa 33 miles to the north of Manchester and 19 miles east of Preston. The train station in Clitheroe offers rail links to a number of northern town and cities, including direct services to Manchester and Blackburn. The town is also well connected to nearby motorway network with the A59 to the south of Clitheroe linking with the M^ to the west and M65 to the south.
