HISTORIC OFFICE BUILDING IN LONDON’S CAVENDISH SQUARE COMES TO MARKET
3 Cavendish Square, a Grade II*-listed Regency office building in London’s historic Cavendish Square, W1G, has been brought to the rental market.
The Grade-A office space is available on a floor-by-floor basis, or as a self-contained headquarters of up to 13,000 sq ft net internal area. The property is located in Marylebone, a short distance from Oxford Street and Oxford Circus Underground, with Mayfair and Fitzrovia also within close proximity.
The building has been completely renovated throughout and provides a combination of period and new build elements. The scheme, designed by Squire & Partners, still retains many of its original features, including ornate mirrors, cast iron balconettes, panelled walls and marble chimneypieces.
Cavendish Square, and the building itself, has a rich history having been home to many notable people and institutions over the years. Number 3 was constructed in c.1740 as part of the Harley Estate regeneration, with the first occupant thought to have been the 2nd Earl of Bessborough, William Ponsonby.
Since then, the property has been home to a number of distinguished individuals as well as the home of the Nippon Club, a Japanese members’ club, which owned the property from 1919 until just after World War Two. For much of its life since then, the building has consisted of offices.
The leasing agents for the property are BNP Paribas Real Estate and Savills.
Percy Clarke, Associate Director in West End Agency at BNP Paribas Real Estate, commented: “The comprehensive refurbishment of 3 Cavendish Square provides an excellent opportunity to acquire exceptional Grade-A offices in the heart of the West End. The building’s rich and detailed history only adds to the charm of the property and makes it a truly exciting proposition for any potential tenant.”
