Our Q1 2021 report on UK Student Housing has just been released.
The report found that:
- The first quarter of the year was a difficult period for the student housing sector as the country plunged back into lockdown and some students were unable to return to their university accommodation after Christmas.
- The Government has signalled 17th May to allow higher education students to return to in-person teaching, as per Step 3 and after this date, there will be clearer picture of the path to recovery in student accommodation
- Positivity is growing and once the sector has more clarity on 2021/22 forward bookings more stabilised assets are likely to change hands.
