Commitment to the future

BNP Paribas Real Estate shows its commitment to the future in many ways.

What we build today shapes our world tomorrow

We understand the importance of  aesthetics to the living environment and workplace, and as such we are involved in the promotion of architecture through a number of sponsorships:

- Pavillon de l'Arsenal (architecture museum and exhibitions)

- the Académie d'Architecture (the learned society to promote architecture)

- the Ile-de-France Maison d'Architecture (promotion, exhibitions, events), etc.

In 2008, we set up the BNP Paribas Real Estate prize for young architects. Intended for young graduates from Architectural Schools in France, it annually rewards students for their work and deliberations on the influence lifestyles and sustainability have on architecture.

Involvement in community life

In Italy  BNP Paribas REIM and Perugia council (Umbria) broadcast, on one of the largest development sites in Italy, six films on the subject of "Restate Insieme " (Living together).

BNP Paribas Real Estate is managing the building of 65,000 sq m of accommodation, student halls, retail outlets, offices and hotels on this site for the UMBRIA fund.

From July to September 2011, the site played host, free of charge, to 1,500 spectators in deckchairs.

The site became a neighbourhood meeting point and one of the busiest places in the town during the summer.

Commitment to Leukaemia and Lymphoma research

In 2010, BNP Paribas Real Estate UK began a two-year partnership with the charity Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research.

A major initiative, the 'Charity Challenge' entails 15 UK heads of regional offices being given £100 to turn into as much money as possible for the charity. Wine tasting, sponsored cycle races and silent auctions were all organised to donate the maximum amount possible to the charity.

Reducing pollution in towns and cities

In Italy, BNP Paribas Real Estate and Arval, BNP Paribas Group subsidiaries, signed an agreement aiming to reduce pollution in Italy's largest towns and cities.

BNP Paribas Real Estate is installing charging points for electric cars in all its buildings.Tenants will have a fleet of electric vehicles available (to be shared between several occupiers), supplied and managed by Arval as a trial for 60 days – rental, insurance, batteries, servicing, etc.
